Synopsis

In this sermon, Pastor Isaac Makashinyi builds up on the previous week's first installment on the divine origin of marriage, as we continue in our study of the first eleven chapters of Genesis.

God, in creating man and woman equal, also assigned headship within the institution of marriage to the man. The woman is no less human than the man is; God has been personally involved in Eve's creation as He was in Adam – she is his equal, one like him, a companion suitable for him – they are both human beings. God created them both, male and female.

If a wife completes man's humanity and opens up to man the possibility of life that is greater, fuller and richer than anything he could have experienced by himself, then husbands stand in greater need to celebrate the wonder that this union brings in the way that Adam celebrated the appearance of Eve in his life (Gen 2:23).

It is only by the grace of God and by the Spirit's help that married couples are enabled to live happy, fulfilling, exciting, delightful and ecstatic marriage lives.
