Synopsis

In Col 1:28, we see that it was the Apostle Paul's desire to present those to whom he ministered mature in Christ. It is such a maturity that will lead to stable, servant-hearted Christians and consequently, a healthy, fruit-bearing church. When it comes to maturity, believers are in one of three categories:

1. Those that are new in the faith and are slowly growing as they are nourished on the spiritual milk of God's word (cf. 1 Peter 2:2).
2. Those who are old in the faith but are not growing at all (cf. Hebrews 5:12).
3. Those who are growing and maturing in Christ and feeding on the solid spiritual food (cf. Hebrews 5:14).

So, what is Christian maturity? What does it mean to be mature in Christ? Listen in as Pastor Makashinyi lays the foundation for Christian maturity, in this first installment of a three or four part mini-series on this very important subject. In this sermon, we learn the different types of maturity, what it means to be mature in Christ, what spiritual maturity is NOT, as well as the implications for all of us.
