God's grace is so consistent, but very unpredictable. That's why John Newton called it "amazing grace". Who would have guessed that we would have in the Bible a book named after a non-Jewish woman? Worse still, a Moabitess! Can anything good come out of that pagan, polytheistic and idolatrous land? No, nothing good can come out of Moab, unless the grace of God rewrites the story of Ruth, and immortalizes her by making her share in the DNA of the greater Son of David. (Ruth 4:18-22).
