Daily Reflection — January 27 2021
Joseph had a great opportunity to pay back his brothers for the cruelty they had shown him. "An eye for eye" is the world's principle of dealing with those that treated us badly. Joseph would have been tempted to publicly announce to the Egyptians what wretched characters his brothers were, and how he had suffered so unjustly at their hands. He never did any of that. Only a spiritually mature and godly heart can overlook the old wounds and wrongs and extend such grace and sincere forgiveness to the offender. (Genesis 45:4-8)
