Isaac had decided to obey Abraham his father whatever the cost, just as his father had decided to obey God whatever the cost. One was ready to let go of the object of his great love, and the other was willing to offer himself as a sacrifice so that God's will is done. The father's faith was alive in the son! (Genesis 22).
